Heavy thunderstorm warning for Istanbul

In a statement made by AKOM, it was noted that the light rain seen in the morning will increase its effect after noon and strong winds and occasional heavy thunderstorms will occur until the evening.

In the statement, it was stated that temperatures will hover around 23 degrees, and it was emphasized that the western regions of the country, especially Istanbul, will be under the influence of the low pressure system coming from the Central Mediterranean.

The statement stated that this system is expected to be effective in the city until Sunday morning, and the following statements were made:

The weather, which started out partly cloudy this morning, will intensify from noon onwards, turning into a thunderstorm with rain. The rain, which is expected to continue until 10:00 p.m., is expected to drop 10 to 20 kilograms of water per square metre. Winds will blow from the south-west direction at speeds of 15 to 45 kilometers per hour, and will feel harsh and strong at times. Saturday is also expected to be rainy, with the rain expected to give way to sunny skies starting Sunday morning.
