Elite horses were sold at auction for a total of 54 million 200 thousand lira.

Fifteen elite foals bred at the Sultansuyu Agricultural Enterprise, a division of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry's General Directorate of Agricultural Enterprises (TİGEM), were put up for sale at auction. The final sale of 2025 took place at the Veliefendi Hippodrome. At the auction, which saw high turnout, the foals meticulously prepared by the breeders were presented to buyers. The foal named 'Hızlı Yasin' achieved the highest price, selling for 10.5 million liras. The foal named 'Gökdemir' sold for 5.6 million liras, bringing TİGEM's total revenue from the sales to 54.2 million liras. 15 foals were delivered to their new owners, with the average sale price reaching 3.613 million liras.
'10 MILLION 500 THOUSAND LIRA IS AN ALL-TIME RECORD FOR US'TİGEM General Manager Hasan Gezginç said, “Today, we held the last Elite Horse sale of 2025 here together. The horse racing community, the equestrian community, and those who support Turkish and Arabian horses, along with us, TİGEM—one of the leading organizations in Arabian horses in Türkiye and the world—held the sale in a truly festive atmosphere. We are truly delighted. We received the highest price ever paid for a racehorse, an elite racehorse. 10,500,000 lira was an all-time record for us. We also set the total record for the sale of an elite horse, and we also broke another record for the average price paid per horse. We generated a total revenue of 54,200,000 lira. This, of course, demonstrates the ancient culture of TİGEM, as well as the progress it has made in this direction by incorporating technology and developments into Turkish horse breeding, including scientific methods.” "It shows us. And at a certain point, it motivates us. It helps us work harder and serve with more enthusiasm for the next periods. Today, we have a total of 15 elite horses. We have eight sales per year. The last three of these are elite horses. They are 15-month-old packages. They were elite horses bred by our Sultansuyu Agricultural Enterprise. We successfully sold these 15 elite horses. We presented them to the attention of interested parties. And as I mentioned earlier, we subsequently generated a revenue of 54.2 million lira. This was truly a source of great enthusiasm and joy for us," he said.
