The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Assembly could not convene due to lack of a sufficient majority.

The first session of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Council's September meetings could not be held due to lack of a quorum.

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Council 2nd Deputy Chairman Gökhan Gümüşdağ arrived at the Council Hall in the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Presidential building in Saraçhane for the first session of the September meetings.

Taking the floor, Gümüşdağ said, "We have called our Parliament to session, but unfortunately, as you can see, when we look at the attendance book, we cannot meet the required quorum, so I am adjourning our Parliament to meet on Wednesday."

Gümüşdağ left the hall after his statement.
