The incidence rate has increased! Does a simple painkiller increase the risk of autism and ADHD?

Scientific data suggests that many of these concerns may be exaggerated. Scientific studies to date have shown that a direct causal link between paracetamol and autism or ADHD has not been established. On the contrary, it is accepted that the potential harm to a baby from an untreated high fever during pregnancy can be far more serious than the use of controlled medications. Dr. Taha Takmaz, Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology, provided information on paracetamol use during pregnancy and its effects on the baby. Some observational studies published in the last 10 years, meaning they are not based on scientific data, suggest that paracetamol use during pregnancy may slightly increase the risk of autism or ADHD in children. However, most of these studies rely on mothers' own reports, and details such as the dosage, duration, and week of pregnancy are unclear. In other words, according to scientific data, a fever during pregnancy due to infection or flu can pose more serious risks than paracetamol use. In current clinical practice, paracetamol is the safest and most commonly used option in this situation. The main points to be considered are the lowest effective dose, use for the shortest period of time, and avoiding chronic and high doses when necessary.
