Trump: Russia's Poland incursion was probably a mistake

US President Trump answered questions from members of the press about current events as he left the White House for New York.

Asked what he thought about Russia's violation of Polish airspace with drones, Trump said, "It may have been a mistake."

Poland had announced that it had shot down some UAVs that repeatedly violated its airspace during Russian attacks on targets in Ukraine.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk also said at an extraordinary cabinet meeting that some drones had repeatedly violated Polish airspace during Russia's attacks on targets in Ukraine.

In his previous statement on the issue, Trump had said, "Why is Russia violating Polish airspace with drones? Here we go."

Trump hopes Israel's attack on Qatar won't affect "a potential ceasefire process in Gaza" When asked how Israel's latest attack on Qatar would affect a potential ceasefire and prisoner swap process in Gaza, Trump said, "I hope it doesn't affect it at all. We want the prisoners to be released and for that to happen as soon as possible. I hope it doesn't affect it at all."

In his previous statement regarding Israel's attack on Qatar, US President Trump argued that the decision to attack rested entirely with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and that they "didn't have enough time" to stop the attack.

Trump is unhappy with Bolsonaro's conviction for attempted coup

Trump said he was not pleased with the Supreme Court finding of former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro guilty of attempted coup, saying, "I watched that trial. I know him pretty well, I think he was a good president. It's very surprising that something like this happened."

Stating that similar lawsuits were filed against him but that he legally overcame them, Trump said, "I knew him as the President of Brazil. He was a good man, and I didn't think something like this would happen."

Brazil's Supreme Court has found former President Bolsonaro guilty of attempted coup against the current government. Three of the five judges presiding over the case declared Bolsonaro guilty of attempted coup against the current government.
