There was an increase in the number of cattle in June

The Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) announced the June Livestock Statistics. Accordingly, in the cattle category, the number of cattle increased by 1.2 percent as of the end of June compared to December of the previous year, reaching 17,030,000 head, while the number of buffalo decreased by 2.3 percent, reaching 158,000 head.

The number of sheep increased

The number of small ruminants reached 58 million 206 thousand head in June 2025. In the small ruminants category, the number of sheep increased by 6.7 percent as of the end of June compared to December of the previous year, reaching 47 million 15 thousand head, and the number of goats increased by 3.4 percent, reaching 11 million 191 thousand head.
