Minister Kurum: Our President will share our 'New 500,000 social housing project' with our nation

Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakıf University's 2025-2026 Academic Year Opening Ceremony was held at the university's Topkapı Campus with the participation of Murat Kurum, Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change. Attendees included Istanbul Governor Davut Gül, Zeytinburnu District Governor Adem Uslu, TOKİ President Mustafa Levent Sungur, Emlak Konut GYO General Manager Yasir Yılmaz, Turkish Real Estate Participation General Manager Onur Gök, Police Academy President Murat Balcı, Zeytinburnu Mayor Ömer Arısoy, academics, and students. The topic of the first lecture, given by Prof. Dr. Zekeriyya Kurşun, was "Our Palestine and Gaza Issue." Following the opening remarks and the first lecture, the ceremony concluded with the presentation of a gift to Murat Kurum and a family photo.
"We will deliver 453,000 residences to their beneficiaries in the earthquake-prone area by the end of the year."Speaking at the program, Minister Kurum mentioned the work being done in the earthquake zone, saying, "As you know, we experienced the disaster of the century. Following that disaster, the state and the nation joined forces in 11 of our provinces, and thank God, we rebuilt our cities. To date, we've delivered 304,000 homes—a figure almost as large as a European country—to their rightful owners, considering the population and surface area. God willing, we will increase this number to 453,000 by the end of the year. Just before the construction work we're carrying out there, we held our first meeting with you and our scientists. Without the warnings and hard work of our scientific committee, we truly wouldn't have been able to complete our work as we expected. And we wouldn't have been able to deliver these homes easily."
"WE WILL CONTINUE OUR PATH WITH THE REVIVAL OF ALL HISTORICAL PLACES IN OUR 11 PROVINCES"Minister Kurum, stating that life in the earthquake zone would return to its former state, said, "We reiterate my promise here. We will continue on our path with the restoration of all our historic sites, filled with both new homes and memories of our nation, in our 11 provinces. We will not stop until the call to prayer rises from the Söğütlü Mosque, a legacy of our ancestors, in Malatya; until the hammering sounds echo from our historic Coppersmiths' Bazaar! Until our historic Parliament Building reopens in Hatay; until our Habibi-i Neccar and Ulu Mosques are revitalized; until all the historic streets of Antakya are illuminated once again; until our Grand Bazaar in Kahramanmaraş is filled with abundance; we will not pause for a single moment; we will work tirelessly. We will bring smiles to the faces of our disaster-stricken brothers and sisters there."
'THIS STRONG STATE HAS ROLLED UP ITS SLEEVES TO MAKE ANOTHER DREAM OF ITS NATION COME TRUE'Minister Murat Kurum, announcing that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will announce the Housing Project of the Century tomorrow, said, "This powerful state has rolled up its sleeves to realize another dream of its people. Soon, this Friday, tomorrow, our President will share our 'New 500,000 Social Housing Project' with our nation. They will be promoting the Housing Project of the Century, which has instilled confidence and promised peace in every member of our nation—our civil servants, workers, mothers, newlyweds, and our precious young people here—since its announcement."
"EVERYONE WHO COMES TO STUDY IN ISTANBUL WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO ACCOMMODATE IN DORMITORIES"Speaking at the program, Governor Gül said, "Our Istanbul is a city of universities. Including the universities established under the leadership of our President, we have 58 universities. Thankfully, our students here are a testament to this. Every student who chooses Istanbul has been provided with dormitories. There are 600 reserve quotas for female students. We have an additional dormitory with a capacity of 8,000 people that will be activated. Therefore, everyone who comes to Istanbul to study will have the opportunity to stay in dormitories."
