Consumer confidence rises in the Netherlands

In the Netherlands , consumer confidence improved for the first time in three months, rising from -32 in September to -27 in October 2025. This was the lowest negative reading since last December. The assessment of the economic climate was less pessimistic, rising from -53 in September to -46. This was supported by better outlooks on both the current and future economy. Views of the economic situation over the past twelve months were also less negative, falling from -62 to -55. Expectations for the next twelve months rose from -43 to -36. Regarding households, the financial situation improved from -18 last year to -16, while expectations for the next twelve months turned positive from -1 to -2. Purchasing intentions rose from -18 to -14, while perceptions of a favorable time for major purchases rose slightly from -34 to -30.
