The 8 routes of the Istanbul Biennial

The 18th Istanbul Biennial, organized by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (İKSV) with the support of Koç Holding, will open its doors from September 20 to November 23. With no fixed exhibition venue, the Istanbul Biennial will establish unique connections with Istanbul through the use of different venues in this edition.

The venues of the three-year 18th Istanbul Biennial, which will begin on September 20, were also determined with an approach related to the conceptual framework created by curator Christine Tohmé.

The first leg of the biennial, titled “Three-Legged Cat,” will be hosted by eight venues within walking distance of each other along the Beyoğlu-Karaköy line.

The venues, all accessible on foot, offer opportunities to take breaks and breathe along the way. This way, the biennial will enable you to experience the city and its streets as part of the exhibition fabric, encountering and engaging with the works in the natural flow of time.

Works of more than 40 artists will be on display during the biennial.

HERE ARE THOSE PLACES

The biennial venues are as follows:

1 - Istanbul Galata Greek School, a witness to the city's multicultural past, is joining the biennial venues again this year.
