Poetry days of our newspaper Cumhuriyet in Ankara

Our newspaper, Cumhuriyet, and Cumhuriyet Kitaplan, in collaboration with the Çankaya Municipality, will organize "Çankaya Cumhuriyet Poetry Days," a panel discussion, poetry review, and book signing event. The guest of honor for the series, titled "History and Poetry in the Eternity of Poetry," will be held at the Çankaya Municipality Doğan Taşdelen Contemporary Arts Center Sabahattin Ali Conference Hall on October 25-26. Master poet Ahmet Telli will be the guest of honor.

POST-SESSION SIGNING

The event will open at 10:00 a.m. on October 25th with speeches by Cumhuriyet Foundation Secretary General Işık Kansu and Çankaya Mayor Hüseyin Can Güner. Following this, Ahmet Telli will be presented with his award. At 10:30, the session titled "Ahmet Telli's Poetry in the Axis of History and Poetry" will be moderated by poet Ali Cengizkan. Elçin Sevgi Suçin, Mahmut Temizyurek and Metin Turan will speak in the session. The session titled "Poetry and Magazines" which will start at 13:30 will feature speeches by Abdülkadir Budak, Ahmet Özer, Abdülkadir Paksoy, Ertuğrul Özüaydın and Tümay Çobanoğlu. The session will be moderated by Aydın Afacan. The day will end at 15:30 with Emel Güz, Haydar Ünal and Cem Savran reading their poems. On October 26, at 10:30, the session titled "The Place of the Poet, The Poetry of the Place" will begin under the moderation of Ferruh Tunç. Cevahir Bedel, Betül Mutlu and Toyga Aydoğan will speak in the session. The session titled "Translation Tradition and Birsen Karaca, Arif Berberoğlu, and Mehmet Hakkı Suçin will speak in the session titled "Our Poetry." The final event of the day will begin at 3:30 p.m. Umut Yaşar Abat, Devrim Dirlikyapan, and Güven Baykan will read their own poems. Immediately following each session, the authors will sign their books.
