Museums and historical sites in Türkiye hosted over 21.6 million visitors in 8 months.

According to the statement made by the Ministry, the İzmir Ephesus Archaeological Site ranked first among the museums and archaeological sites visited in the first eight months since the beginning of the year, with 1,741,547 visitors.
Denizli Pamukkale (Hierapolis) Archaeological Site was among the most popular areas with 1 million 613 thousand 357 visitors, Göreme Archaeological Site with 766 thousand 937 visitors, and Paşabağlar Archaeological Site with 753 thousand 638 visitors.

🔹 AA Live for instant developmentsGalata Tower in Istanbul ranked fifth among the most visited places in the first eight months of the year with 651,197 visitors, while Şanlıurfa Göbeklitepe Archaeological Site, which is on the UNESCO World Heritage List, ranked sixth with 497,394 visitors.
While the Kaymaklı Underground City was visited by 460,262 people and the Republic Museum in Ankara by 454,048 people, the Sümela Monastery and Derinkuyu Underground City were among the top 10 with 392,976 visitors and 375,870 visitors, respectively.

Preserving this heritage, which reflects the voice of human history in every stone and every trace, and passing it on to the future is our greatest responsibility. In line with our vision of the Turkish Century, we will continue to carry the light of our history, culture, and civilization to the entire world.
Ersoy stated that a total of 7,707,226 people visited the top 10 museums and historical sites that attracted the most attention.
