Hasan Mirza's 'Reckless Essays' exhibition: Nilüfer Municipality brings together nature and urban memory through painting

Mirza's paintings, more than simply presenting a visual surface, invite the viewer into the tense relationship between nature, the city, and humanity. On his canvases, the artist dissolves the boundaries erected between nature and humanity, demonstrating a resistance to the city's amnesia. While initially perceived as landscapes, upon closer inspection, the paintings reveal the shadows of ruined cities, traces of forgotten nature, and the fragility of the body.
"Reckless Essays" is an exhibition that calls for remembrance beyond mere sight. Mirza opens a new space to confront what has been lost within the layers of the canvas. The majesty of the mountains, the labyrinths of the city, and the silence of the body transform into the resistance of a collective memory in these paintings. The artist creates a collective memory beyond individual memory, thus making visible the fragile aspects of the world co-constructed by nature and humans.
With this exhibition, the Nilüfer Municipality not only brings contemporary art to the public but also creates a meeting space that strengthens the city's cultural memory. "Reckless Essays" revisits the social memory power of art, offering an aesthetic way to confront the forgotten.
