An avalanche fell yesterday morning in the world-famous tourism center Ayder Plateau in Çamlıhemşin. A second avalanche fell this evening in the same place. The snow masses descending from Gelintülü Waterfall suddenly fell into the valley where Ayder Creek is located. While the absence of life in the area where the avalanche fell prevented a possible disaster, the moment of the fall was reflected moment by moment on the security cameras of the businesses on the plateau.

“The avalanche that occurred in Çamlıhemşin , Ayder tonight caused material damage, and our greatest consolation is that there was no loss of life or injury. Damage and damage assessment studies will be carried out rapidly by our relevant institutions. The heavy snowfall that has been effective in our province in recent days has added new snow load to the existing snow cover, causing the weight to increase and the snow mass to loosen as a result of melting. This situation increases the risk of avalanches, especially in sloped areas with high snow cover. It is of great importance for our citizens to be careful against avalanche danger for the safety of their lives and property. The warnings of the authorities should be taken into consideration, risky areas should not be entered and safety measures should not be neglected.”
