Emphasis on Comprehensive Earthquake Preparedness

Ambassador Katsumata said, "We have made extensive preparations for earthquakes in terms of architecture, technology, education, and culture." Katsumata noted that Japan has systematically prepared in this area, emphasizing that even small houses are built with new earthquake-resistant technologies.

Katsumata emphasized the importance of post-earthquake interventions, stating that the real preparations must be made before an earthquake strikes. He also noted that they will soon host AFAD President Ali Hamza Pehlivan in Japan and that they have projects in place to prepare for the earthquake.

Relations Between the Two Countries Are Growing Stronger

Katsumata also touched on the historical ties between Turkey and Japan, stating that the two countries share a special relationship despite their geographical distance. "We have had very good relations with the Turks," the ambassador said, emphasizing that shared challenges like earthquakes have further strengthened these relations. Katsumata added that Türkiye's interest in Japan is invaluable to them.
