Avalanche hit Ayder Plateau! Rize Governorship made a statement

An avalanche fell on the world-famous tourism center Ayder Yaylası in Çamlıhemşin district of Rize the other day and yesterday. The second avalanche that fell in the same place one day apart caused panic. The moment the avalanche fell was reflected moment by moment on security cameras.
Following the avalanche, the Rize Governorship made a statement and announced that there was no loss of life and that damage assessment work had been initiated. The statement from the Rize Governorship read, "The avalanche that occurred tonight in Çamlıhemşin/Ayder caused material damage, and our greatest consolation is that there was no loss of life or injury. Damage and loss assessment work will be carried out quickly by our relevant institutions. The heavy snowfall that has been effective in our province in recent days has added new snow load to the existing snow cover, causing the weight to increase and the snow mass to loosen as a result of melting. This situation increases the risk of avalanches, especially in sloped areas with high snow cover. It is of great importance for our citizens to be careful against avalanche danger for the safety of their lives and property. The warnings of the authorities should be taken into consideration, risky areas should not be entered and safety measures should not be neglected."
The statement continued by listing the precautions to be taken, saying, "Stay away from steep slopes and sloping terrain. Do not stay in areas with high snow cover unnecessarily. Avoid movements that may create noise and vibration. Follow the warnings of meteorology and AFAD authorities. Follow the statements of authorized institutions. In case of emergency, call the single number 112."
