Hockey players from St. Petersburg's SKA achieved a confident home victory over Chelyabinsk's Traktor with a score of 5:2 in a regular KHL championship match.
The Army team's goals were scored by Matvey Korotky in the 14th minute, Marat Khairullin (24th minute), Matvey Polyakov (28th), Brennan Menell (47th) and Sergei Plotnikov, who sent the puck into an empty net two minutes before the end of the game.
Traktor's Pierrick Dube (28th minute) and Alexander Kadeikin (38th minute) scored.
This victory was the first for SKA in the current championship after three matches. Having scored 3 points, the St. Petersburg club rose to sixth place in the Western Conference table.
Traktor continues to lead the Eastern Conference with 4 points after four games.
Earlier, SKA suffered defeats from Shanghai Dragons (4:7) and Nizhny Novgorod Torpedo (2:3 in overtime). In the next match, on September 14, the Petersburgers will host Togliatti Lada, while the Chelyabinsk club will go on an away game with Sochi.
