Astrakhan footballers lost to Pobeda in Khasavyurt

The team from the Caspian capital conceded the only goal at the very beginning of the match.

In the 18th round of the Russian Football Championship among teams of Group 1 Division B of the 2nd League, Astrakhan met one of the tournament leaders, Pobeda, in Khasavyurt. The long unbeaten streak of Andranik Babayan's charges was interrupted.

The fate of the match was decided by the only goal scored in the 2nd minute by the 24-year-old midfielder of the home team Temirkhan Bitarov – 1:0 in favor of Pobeda.

With 27 points scored, Astrakhan still occupies 6th position in the standings.

Andranik Babayan's team will play their next match in almost 3 weeks. On July 26, the Astrakhan team will host Nart from Cherkessk, which is in 8th place and 2 points behind them.
