Azimut Hotels to build five-star sanatorium in Belokurikha for 5 billion rubles

The area of the five-star sanatorium in Belokurikha will be 20 thousand square meters – the complex will include a hotel for 220 people and a medical and health building. The average return on investment is expected to be between 10 and 12 years. Other details of the project have not yet been disclosed.
In May 2025, the head of the Altai Territory Department for the Development of Tourism and Resort Activities, Alexander Baryshnikov, announced the creation of three large five-star resort complexes in the lower part of the Belokurikha resort. It was planned that one of them would be built as early as 2025. However, the names of the investors were not disclosed, and the volume of investment in the projects was estimated at 10 billion rubles.
Baryshnikov noted that after the commissioning of the facilities, the number of rooms in the resort town will increase by 1,000. Currently, there are 17 sanatoriums with 5,500 beds in Belokurikha, but none of them have the five-star category.
Azimut Hotels is one of the largest hotel operators in Russia – it manages 70 hotels and resorts with a total of over 12,000 rooms. At the end of May, the chain gained control over the Prometheus health resort in Krasnodar Krai – 100% of the shares were transferred to the legal entity OOO Capital Hotels Rus.
Since 2018, the property has belonged to the diamond producer Alrosa, with the hotel chain acting as the manager. The amount and details of the deal have not been disclosed, industry experts estimate the market value of the property at approximately 2 billion rubles. The health resort has 263 rooms of the two-three star category. The health complex includes a medical center offering treatment procedures for adults and children over three years old. There are also therapeutic baths and showers, a speleotherapy chamber, an infrared sauna, ozone therapy, magnetic therapy, mud therapy and physiotherapy rooms.
