The Russian government made an important amendment to the document on Pushkin's death

The Russian government has corrected an error in the name of Georges Dantes in the description of a cultural heritage site at the site of a duel that killed the poet Alexander Pushkin. The corresponding resolution was published on the legal acts portal. It says that the inaccuracy was also contained in documents from the Russian Ministry of Culture and the St. Petersburg Committee for State Control, Use and Protection of Historical and Cultural Monuments.
The words “The place where the duel between the poet Pushkin A.S. and Dantes E. took place on January 27, 1837” shall be replaced by the words “The place where the duel between Pushkin A.S. and Dantes Zh.Sh. took place ,” as indicated in the document.
Earlier, State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin instructed the State Duma Committee on Culture to look into the situation with the mixed-up name of Alexander Pushkin's killer in an official government document. According to State Duma deputy Oleg Smolin, either a "gross mistake" or "blatant illiteracy" occurred.
Before this, Federation Council member Airat Gibatdinov, commenting on the corresponding idea of State Duma deputy Nikolai Burlyaev, expressed the opinion that the Investigative Committee of Russia should not be distracted by the investigation into the death of writer and poet Mikhail Lermontov . In a conversation with NEWS.ru, the senator emphasized that the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation has many important tasks.
