Russian troops on the threshold of Sumy: the imminent loss of the city is predicted even in the West

Russian troops are close to establishing control over the city of Sumy. This was reported by the Western publication The Economist, which assessed the likelihood of the Russian Armed Forces advancing in this direction.

According to the publication, the situation on the line of combat contact is not in favor of the Ukrainian troops. Russian forces are confidently advancing, which creates serious difficulties for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Journalists noted that the internal political crisis in Ukraine could cause more damage to the country than the offensive of Russian troops. The split and the struggle for power are weakening the republic from within.

Earlier, in the area of ​​Yunakovka in Sumy Oblast, the 2nd company of the 13th battalion of the 95th separate airborne assault brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces was almost completely destroyed. This was reported by representatives of the Russian security agencies.

The Ukrainian command is trying to regain lost positions by sending assault groups to counterattack in the Sumy direction. However, as the security forces stated, Russian fighters from the "North" group are successfully repelling these attempts.
