Portugal completes qualification for the 2026 World Cup at Estádio do Dragão

Portugal will close the qualifying phase for the 2026 World Cup at the Estádio do Dragão, in Porto, where it will host Armenia, in the sixth and final round of Group F, the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) announced today.

The match against the Armenian national team is scheduled for November 16th, at 7:45 pm, three days after the Portuguese team visited the Republic of Ireland, in a return to the Estádio do Dragão, where they only lost once, in the first round of Euro2004, against Greece (2-1), adding, since then, 11 wins and three draws.

Portugal kicked off qualifying with two away wins, the first a 5-0 thrashing of Armenia on Saturday before a 3-2 win in Hungary on Tuesday.

In October, Portugal plays two games at the José Alvalade Stadium in Lisbon, hosting the Irish on October 11 and the Hungarians on the 14.

With two matches played, Portugal leads Group F with six points, three more than Armenia, with Ireland and Hungary trailing with just one point.
