After their unprecedented participation – crowned with a victory – in a EuroBasket last summer, the Portuguese women's national team regrouped today in Rio Maior, kicking off the first qualifying phase for the 2027 European Championship. Placed in Group G with Serbia and Iceland, the top two teams advance to the next round, along with the three best third-placed teams. Their opening match is scheduled for Saturday against the Balkan team, precisely the opponent against whom Portugal secured qualification for EuroBasket'25 in February. And Ricardo Vasconcelos points out that the scenario is now different.
