Lagoa Académico Clube wins Regional Swimming Tournament

Lagoa Académico Clube won the Regional Long Distance Tournament for Children, Juniors and Seniors , which took place on November 8th and 9th at the Lagos Swimming Complex, with 221 points.
The tournament, organized by the Algarve Swimming Association , brought together athletes from all over the Algarve and once again highlighted the excellent moment that Algarve swimming is experiencing, with a remarkable technical level, outstanding performances and an excellent sporting spirit among all the clubs and swimmers present during the two days of competition.
In the men's category, the performances of Miguel Velhinho (Lagoa Académico Clube) stand out, who completed the 1500m Freestyle in 17:08.94, and Rafael Silva (Louletano Desportos Clube) who finished the same distance in 17:15.47. Gonçalo Bárbara (Lagoa Académico Clube) was also in the spotlight, finishing the 400m Individual Medley in just 4:50.10.
In the women's events, Constança Azevedo and Mariana Jesus (Lagoa Académico Clube) stood out, finishing the 400m Individual Medley in 5:10.17 and 5:17.26, respectively. Carolina Lopes (Portinado) was the fastest in the 800m Freestyle, completing the race in 9:53.00.
The club with the best results over the two days of competition was Lagoa Académico Clube with 221 points, followed by Portinado – Associação de Natação de Portimão (172 points) and RIA – Aqua Clube de Tavira (107 points).
For the Algarve Swimming Association, the event was marked by an exemplary, punctual competition, with technical quality and sportsmanship, reaffirming the Regional Long Distance Tournament as a benchmark in the region's competitive calendar.
