Inês Ramos, Inês Viana and Joana Soeiro called up for preparation for Eurobasket

The Portuguese women's basketball coach today called up 16 players to prepare for the European Championship in June, in a list with a clear focus on the continuity of the core that ensured the unprecedented qualification.
In relation to the victories over Ukraine and Serbia, in the last two matches of the qualifying phase, Ricardo Vasconcelos kept 13 of the players who were on the match sheets, with only Raquel Laneiro (CB Arxil, Spain), Carolina Cruz (Polisportiva Gali, Italy) and Inês Ramos (in the photo) coming in, an athlete from Aveiro who had a great season playing for Esgueira. From the region, the young players Joana Soeiro and Inês Viana have also been called up.
Regarding the first preliminary call-up of 32 players, the coach chose not to call up any of the four basketball players who are competing in the university championships in the United States.
The Portuguese national team will carry out the first part of its training camp between the 18th and 31st of this month in Lisbon. It will play two preparation matches in Maribor (23rd and 25th) and will also face Serbia twice (29th and 30th May), but only 14 players will be called up for these matches.
At the beginning of June, the “lynxes” will gather in Póvoa de Varzim, where they will play a tournament with Spain (June 10) and Switzerland (June 12), which Portugal will face again in a new friendly match on June 14.
Two days later, with the final list of 12 players, Portugal travels to Brno, in the Czech Republic, where it will make its debut in the Women's European Championships, in Group C, together with Belgium (June 19), the host team (20) and Montenegro (22).
