Goiás announces Fábio Carille as new coach
Goiás announced on Monday night (13) the hiring of Fábio Carille as its new coach. The 52-year-old coach takes over the team after the departure of Vagner Mancini, made official on the morning of the same day, and will try to secure promotion to Serie A.
Carille arrives at the Goiás club as the current Serie B champion, with Santos. During his career, the coach has had stints at Corinthians , Athletico, and Vasco. His last job was at Vitória, where he led the red-and-black team for nine matches, winning only one.
Esmeraldino is going through a difficult time in Série B. Without winning for five rounds, Goiás dropped to fourth place, with 52 points, and has six rounds to try to secure promotion. The new coach arrives with three assistants and should make his debut next Sunday (19), in the direct confrontation against Chapecoense .
