Chelsea easily beat Nottingham and stay close to the leaders

Chelsea beat Nottingham Forest 3-0 on Saturday morning (18) at City Ground in a match valid for the eighth round of the Premier League. The result marked the second consecutive victory for the Blues, who climb the table and begin to approach the group that fights for places in European competitions.
With the win, Chelsea now has 14 points and moves up to fourth place, two behind leaders Arsenal, who face Fulham this round. Nottingham Forest, however, remains in 17th place with five points and could fall into the relegation zone at the end of the round. Furthermore, the team has yet to win under manager Ange Postecoglou.
The first half was evenly balanced, with Chelsea slightly dominating the territory but lacking much effectiveness. Forest closed up well and relied on counterattacks through Morgan Gibbs-White, but were thwarted by the Londoners' strong marking.
The visiting team, however, came back more focused after the break and settled the game within minutes. In the fourth minute, Josh Acheampong opened the scoring with a header from a Pedro Neto cross. Three minutes later, Pedro Neto himself extended the lead with a precise free kick, leaving goalkeeper Matz Sels with no chance.

With the lead, Chelsea controlled the pace and managed the result, while Nottingham appeared nervous and lacked creativity in their search for a comeback. Despite Ange Postecoglou's offensive changes, the home side failed to threaten Sanchez's goal.
In the 39th minute, Reece James sealed the match. Not even Malo Gusto's red card after his second yellow card in the 42nd minute could shake Chelsea. Even down ten men, the team didn't struggle against such a weak opponent.
