22-year-old forcado dies after being gored by a bull in Campo Pequeno

Manuel Maria Trindade, a 22-year-old bullfighter, died this Saturday at the Hospital de São José, where he was hospitalized after being violently gored by a 695-kilo bull, throwing him against the trench boards, the information was released by the website specialized in bullfighting Touro e Ouro.

According to the website, the young man succumbed to the injuries and brain damage he suffered at the Campo Pequeno Bullring. He had been in cardiorespiratory arrest since he was admitted to the hospital.

The young man lived in São Miguel de Machede, in the municipality of Évora, but was a bullfighter in São Manços, in the same municipality in Alentejo.

On social media, Manuel's death has been mourned by several individuals and groups involved in bullfighting. The Grupo Forcados Amadores de Monsaraz says that the forcado will "always remain in the memory and hearts of all of us."

Francisco Figueira, a member of Parliament for the PSD and district leader of the Social Democrats in Évora, remembers "a courageous bullfighter and a friend to all."
