Three municipalities in the Faro district are at maximum risk

The municipalities of Loulé, São Brás de Alportel and Tavira in the district of Faro are at maximum risk of rural fires this Monday, according to the IPMA, which predicts this risk will worsen in the coming days.
Dozens of municipalities in the northern and central interior and even in the Algarve are at very high risk, while many municipalities located in the Alentejo and along the northern coast are at high risk, according to the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA).
According to the institute's calculations, the rural fire danger will begin to increase from Tuesday due to the expected rise in temperatures and will remain high at least until the weekend in some districts.
This hazard, determined by the IPMA, has five levels, ranging from low to high. Calculations are obtained from air temperature, relative humidity, wind speed, and precipitation over the last 24 hours.
Due to the hot weather, the IPMA has placed the districts of Bragança, Viseu, Évora, Guarda, Vila Real, Beja, Castelo Branco and Portalegre under yellow warning, between 9:00 am on Tuesday and 6:00 pm on Wednesday.
The IPMA also issued a yellow warning for the south coast and mountainous regions of Madeira Island between 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday and 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday due to hot weather. The IPMA issues a yellow warning when there is a "risk situation for certain activities dependent on the weather."
The IPMA forecasts for this Monday on the mainland partly cloudy or clear skies, stronger winds on the west coast and highlands, the possibility of morning fog and a small rise in temperature, except for the maximum on the coast of the Central region where a small drop is expected.
Minimum temperatures will range between 12 degrees Celsius (in Guarda) and 18 (in Aveiro and Lisbon) and maximum temperatures between 23 (in Viana do Castelo) and 28 (in Santarém and Bragança).
For the Madeira archipelago, the forecast is for generally very cloudy skies , gradually decreasing in cloudiness from the morning onwards, with the possibility of light showers in the highlands and on the northern slope of Madeira Island, light to moderate winds and a slight drop in maximum temperatures.
In Funchal, temperatures will vary between 21 and 27 degrees and in Porto Santo between 19 and 25 degrees.
