Macau Government Leader Postpones Visit to Portugal, Scheduled for September 16, Without Date

The leader of the Macau Government, Sam Hou Fai, has postponed his visit to Portugal and Spain, scheduled for September 16-23, without a set date, Lusa confirmed from an official source.
“The visit has been postponed and there is still no date for when it will take place,” an official source from the Government Information Bureau (GCS) of the Macau Special Administrative Region (MSAR) confirmed to Lusa.
The visit to Portugal would be the first trip abroad since Sam Hou Fai took office as chief executive of the Macao SAR in December 2024.
This trip, if it had gone ahead, would have started two days after the elections for the Macao SAR Parliament, scheduled for the 14th.
