Patrícia Ramos sends a strong message to Virginia Fonseca

Patrícia Ramos' statements about the choice of Virginia Fonseca as the queen of Grande Rio's drum section continue to generate repercussions. During her participation in a podcast, the presenter and digital influencer expressed her discontent with the decision of the samba school from Duque de Caxias for the 2026 Carnival.
According to Patrícia, Virginia's choice represents "a lack of respect" for women who prepare themselves all year long to perform the role. "There are girls who take classes, wear very heavy costumes, and pay for these costumes in installments. There is a whole preparation process. Carnival demands a lot of respect and you don't just go in part of it. Carnival is an immersion," she said.
The influencer also commented that, from her point of view, there is no coherence between the Christian faith and participating in Carnival parades. "There is no way that you, who are of the Christian faith, would want to parade in Carnival. These are completely different things," she argued. She also highlighted that the event has a strong connection with religions of African origin, which, for her, makes the participation of evangelicals incompatible.
In fact, Patrícia made it clear that, even if she were invited, she would not accept the position of drum queen. "First of all, it is not my religion. Carnival sings about orishas, about religions of African origin," she declared.
Patrícia Ramos' criticisms echo previous comments by actress Carol Castro, who also spoke out against Paolla Oliveira being replaced by Virginia Fonseca in the post.
The controversy highlights a clash between different views on representation and identity in the world of samba. Meanwhile, Grande Rio's choice continues to be widely debated among Carnival fans and public figures.
