Former BBB undergoes rhinoplasty

Former Big Brother Brasil 24 contestant Matteus Amaral has been attracting attention on social media after sharing images of the results of a rhinoplasty. The recent procedure was performed for both aesthetic and functional reasons. According to him, the initial goal was to improve his breathing, which was often compromised, especially during colder weather.

Previously, Matteus had breathing difficulties caused by nasal obstructions. According to him, the problem compromised his sleep quality, forcing him to breathe through his mouth and wake up frequently, even after long hours of rest. After the procedure, the Rio Grande do Sul native reported significant improvement: "Now, God willing, I won't have to go through this hassle."

Still recovering, Matteus revealed that he removed the bandage a week after surgery and that the swelling is gradually decreasing. Although the new shape of his nose is still stabilizing, he commented on the visible changes: "I'm feeling a little strange. It's very different. I used to have a big potato here on my nose."

According to surgeon Regis Ramos, who commented on the procedure, rhinoplasty can simultaneously correct aesthetic and functional aspects. He adds that the technique has evolved in recent years with the use of technologies such as 3D planning and minimally invasive approaches, which contribute to faster recovery and more natural results. "Yes, it is possible to correct both respiratory function and aesthetics in the same surgery."

The specialist adds that, despite the advances, the definitive results of the surgery may take time. "The swelling gradually subsides, and the nose goes through several changes until it stabilizes. The final result usually appears between six months and a year," the doctor explained.

Matteus also detailed important post-operative care. He used taping, a bandage that helps control swelling, and said he was discharged the same day as the surgery. "I left with this tape, which was very important in my recovery. It helps a lot with swelling control. And note: I went home the same day I had surgery."
