SNS. Five emergency rooms closed on Saturday and four on Sunday

Five emergency rooms will be closed on Saturday and four on Sunday, one in Pediatrics and the rest in Gynecology and Obstetrics, according to the National Health Service (SNS) Portal consulted by Lusa at 11:00 am this Friday.

The Obstetrics and Gynecology emergency departments at the Barreiro and Aveiro hospitals will be closed on Saturday and Sunday, as will the Pediatrics department at the Vila Franca de Xira Hospital, according to the emergency schedules on the portal.

On Saturday, the Obstetrics and Gynecology emergency departments at the hospitals in Setúbal and Caldas da Rainha will also be closed, while the same will happen at the Garcia da Orta Hospital on Sunday.

As for the emergency services referred, which only receive cases referred by the National Institute of Medical Emergency (INEM) or the SNS 24 line , the portal indicates the pediatric services at the Amadora-Sintra and Loures hospitals, between 00:00 and 24:00, on both days.

The Gynecology and Obstetrics emergencies of the hospitals of Braga (Saturday from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm and Sunday from 8:00 am to midnight), Santarém (Saturday, from 00:00 am to 08:30 am), Leiria (Saturday and Sunday, 00:00 am - midnight) and Amadora-Sintra (Sunday, 00:00 am - midnight) will also be referenced.

Health authorities urge the public to contact the SNS24 Line (808 24 24 24) before going to an emergency room to receive appropriate guidance.
