Millennium Investment Banking market analyst Ramiro Loureiro states that " European stock markets oscillated between green and red throughout the session, showing that investors are looking for signals for the next step, at a time when some of the main European and North American stock indices are close to their highest values ever. It's natural that political instability in France, following the prime minister's resignation, will have some impact, but attention is very focused on both the ECB's interest rate decisions on Thursday and the US producer price and inflation readings on Wednesday and Thursday, which are important for the Fed's decisions."
"Meanwhile, in the US, job creation data for 2025 was revised downward, revealing a less robust labor market, which even fuels prospects of interest rate cuts. The Natural Resources sector was boosted by the surge in Anglo American, which announced a merger with Teck Resources. In Portugal, the PSI felt pressure from the decline of Mota-Engil, as well as corrections in the EDP, BCP, and CTT groups," he notes .
In the oil market, Texas WTI rose 1.11%, setting the price per barrel at $62.96, and Brent rose 1.01% to $66.69. Natural gas fell 0.87% to $3.063.
