Nordea Asset Management enters the ETF market

Asset manager Nordea Asset Management (NAM) has launched its first two active BetaPlus ETFs.
BetaPlus is Nordea AM's active response to passive investing — "a consolidated family of enhanced active strategies, with €60 billion in assets under management, which has consistently generated alpha and controlled risk for over 15 years," says the Nordea Group manager.
Already trusted by institutional and discretionary investors across Europe, these strategies are now available in a more flexible way with the launch of BetaPlus Active ETFs.
The two funds launched are Nordea ETF ICAV – BetaPlus Enhanced Global Developed Sustainable Equity Fund UCITS ETF and Nordea ETF ICAV – BetaPlus Enhanced Global Sustainable Equity Fund UCITS ETF. "Domiciled in Ireland and available at launch on Xetra, these ETFs represent a significant expansion of access to Nordea AM's BetaPlus solutions. Listings on the London (LSE) and Zurich (SIX) stock exchanges are pending and expected to be available soon," the company said.
Nils Bolmstrand, CEO of Nordea Asset Management, says that "with €60 billion already invested, client demand for consistent alpha, with cost control and efficiency, is growing. Making BetaPlus available in ETF format is a natural progression, offering investors flexibility and tradability."
Previously only available through traditional UCITS funds and mandates, BetaPlus ETFs "maintain the rigorous investment process and the same investment team — now in a structure that clients have been requesting, allowing for greater efficiency and tradability," says the asset manager.
"The BetaPlus product goes beyond simple market exposure, combining quantitative portfolio construction with controlled risk and integrated sustainability. These active strategies are built on the deep experience of Nordea AM's Multi-Assets team in multi-factor investing, making them profitable and replicable," the firm adds.
Based in Ireland and available at launch on Xetra, “these ETFs represent a significant expansion of access to Nordea AM’s BetaPlus solutions,” says the company, adding that listings on the London (LSE) and Zurich (SIX) stock exchanges are pending, “which are expected to be available soon.”
Nordea Asset Management (NAM) has €286 billion in assets under management and is part of the Nordea Group, the largest financial services group in the Nordic region (with €422 billion in assets under management).
