Pontal. PSD resumes political activity this Thursday

The Festa do Pontal, the PSD's traditional political "rentrée", takes place this Thursday at Calçadão de Quarteira, in the Algarve, with its highlight being a speech by the Prime Minister and party leader, Luís Montenegro.

The party will begin at 6:30 p.m. and, from 7:45 p.m., political interventions will begin, with a speech by the president of the Faro district and candidate for the local council, Cristóvão Norte, and, later, by Luís Montenegro.

Since becoming leader of the PSD in 2022, Montenegro has taken advantage of the political "rentrée" to announce new measures for the country.

Last year, for example, the first time he visited Pontal as Prime Minister, Luís Montenegro took the opportunity to announce an extraordinary supplement for the lowest pensions.

After Luís Montenegro's speech, there will be a concert by musician Toy at 9:30 pm, before the festival closes at 11:30 pm.

With the Pontal Festival, the PSD will kick off the party's "returns." Chega doesn't yet have a scheduled date, while IL has already announced it, and it will be on August 30th in Albufeira, with the "Agosto da Liberdade" festival.

Between August 30th and 31st, in Coimbra, the Left Bloc will organize its traditional Socialism Forum, while the Socialist Party (PS) will organize its first major event also in Coimbra, on September 6th, with the party's Municipal Convention.

The PCP will organize the Festa do Avante on September 5th, 6th and 7th at Quinta da Atalaia, in Seixal, on the same weekend that Livre will organize its “rentrée”, in Porto, although it has not yet announced what the content of the event will be.

The CDS-PP's "rentrée" will also be on September 6th, in Vale de Cambra, while the PAN will try to associate several events with the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the animal protection law, which will be celebrated on the weekend of September 13th and 14th.
