Castelo Branco Hospital reinforced with new CT scan

The Imaging Service at Hospital Amato Lusitano (HAL), in Castelo Branco, will be reinforced with new Computerized Axial Tomography (CT) equipment, in an investment of 700 thousand euros.
In a statement sent to Lusa news agency this Thursday, the Castelo Branco Local Health Unit (ULSCB) stated that this investment will enable "faster, more accurate, and safer diagnoses." "This translates into more informed clinical decisions, more effective treatments, and, above all, better outcomes for patients."
According to the ULSCB, the new CT equipment also “significantly reinforces” the diagnostic capacity of the Castelo Branco ULS, allowing examinations to be performed with greater precision and safety and with less radiation exposure for patients.
The acquisition of this new equipment, worth 700 thousand euros, comes within the scope of the Technological Modernization Program of the National Health Service (SNS) financed by the Recovery and Resilience Plan (RRP).
With this modernization of the HAL Imaging Service, the ULSCB states that it is taking another important step in strengthening technology, aligning itself with the priorities in the provision of healthcare.
