International Argentine Tango Festival in October in Castelo Branco

" This festival arises from the desire to share, transmit, show and experience this wonderful language that is tango in its various forms, and the desire to dance," said Puro Abrazo - Association for the promotion and sociocultural diffusion of culture and Argentine Tango, organizer of the event, in a statement sent to the Lusa news agency.
The event takes place in Castelo Branco, on October 10th, 11th and 12th, in several spaces in the city, namely at Cineteatro Avenida, Centro Artístico Albicastrense and Parque da Cruz do Montalvão.

Tango was classified by UNESCO as Intangible Heritage of Humanity in 2009 and its diffusion and practice has grown throughout the world.
According to the organization, in Castelo Branco there are regular classes and a community of fans.
The program features more than 25 hours of Tango, classes and workshops, four milongas, three tango performances by professional dancers, a Tango show at the Cineteatro with an orchestra and dancers and the traditional Tango orchestra La Argenta Ensamble.
There are also free classes and activities planned for beginners who want to learn to dance Argentine Tango, as well as a free milonga open to the public.
The organization also highlights the presence, in Castelo Branco, of Argentines Barbara Ferreyra and Agustin Agnez, 2021 Tango world champions.
In the last edition, more than 200 participants from 11 countries were present in Castelo Branco.
