Ana Leonor Rocha shows «High Seas» at the Pintor Samora Barros Art Gallery

The work on display follows another exhibition by the author, presented at the Carlos Silva e Sousa Arts and Crafts Center, earlier this year.
The exhibition is curated by João Silvério, and refers to an imaginary sea as a poetic reference.
According to the exhibition's explanatory note, the works also result from the author's relationship with the sea, and express a certain melancholy that emerges from the ultramarine blue hue used in the paintings.
The works on display include references to figures of women, who intersect with shells and other marine creatures, in a dialogue between the sea and the coast that the author seeks to explore.
Ana Leonor Rocha is a native of the Mozambican province of Nampula and currently resides between Lisbon and Albufeira. She has completed several projects and regularly undertakes projects throughout the country. In recent years, she has also exhibited her work in various venues in the municipality of Albufeira.
The works that make up the exhibition «Alto-Mar» are on display until September 27th.
The exhibition opened at the end of July and can be visited at the Pintor Samora Barros Art Gallery in Albufeira.
The space is free to enter and is open Monday through Saturday, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. It is closed on Sundays and holidays.
