'Emily in Paris' Season 5 Release Date Announced in Italy

In the new episodes, Emily Cooper, played by Lily Collins, will continue her vacation in the "Belpaese," where she will experience intense moments in Rome and Venice—the series' new setting. Now at the helm of Agence Grateau in Rome, she will face new professional and romantic challenges as she adapts to life in a new city.

However, when a work idea doesn't go as planned, the consequences lead to heartbreak and obstacles in her career. "This season is a tale of two cities: Rome and Paris. Between the two, Emily takes love and life to a new level," creator Darren Star told Tudum, the official fan site.

In this way, the young public relations professional from Chicago continues to explore Italy in search of new destinations: the new image released by Netflix depicts Emily on a speedboat on the Grand Canal, impeccable in a black and white pantsuit with a polka-dot blouse and skirt and white cat-eye glasses.

"Welcome. We're serving up a slice of la dolce vita," Netflix wrote on Instagram, while Star added: "From Parisian rooftops to Roman ruins, we can't wait to share where the next chapter takes Emily."

In the fifth season of the series, Lucas Bravo will also return as Gabriel, the talented chef in love with Emily, but still linked to his ex-girlfriend Camille, whose actress Camille Razat did not participate in the new recordings.

"Just when everything seemed to be going well, a career idea backfires, and the consequences lead to heartbreak and career setbacks," says the series' synopsis, anticipating the heroine's dramas.

"In search of stability, Emily immerses herself in the French lifestyle, until a big secret threatens one of her closest relationships," it adds.

The cast also features the return of Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu (Sylvie Grateau), Ashley Park (Mindy Chen), Samuel Arnold (Julien), Bruno Gouery (Luc), William Abadie (Antoine Lambert) and Thalia Besson (Genevieve). Lucien Laviscount also returns to play Alfie, Emily's ex-boyfriend, while Eugenio Franceschini plays the Italian Marcello.

In addition to them, the new season will also feature new characters: Bryan Greenberg will play Jake, an American living in Paris; Michèle Laroque will play Yvette, an old friend of Sylvie's; and Minnie Driver will play Princess Jane, another friend of Sylvie's who married into royalty.
