Victim of collision on Linha do Oeste died at the scene

The man seriously injured in this morning's accident on the Linha do Oeste "ended up dying at the scene," the commander of the Torres Vedras Fire Department, in the Lisbon district, told the Lusa news agency.
At 9:40 am, a light passenger vehicle was hit by a train on the Oeste railway line, between Torres Vedras and Bombarral, and caused a serious injury, who later died.
The victim was assisted at the scene by the crew of the Torres Vedras Emergency and Resuscitation Medical Vehicle.

Traffic on the Western railway line was cut and by 12:00 it had not yet reopened.
Contacted by Lusa, a source from Infraestruturas de Portugal (IP) said that the line remained cut so that the authorities could continue their “diligence”.
The railway structure and the train are undamaged, according to the same source.
The causes of the accident are still unknown.
