Tavira Municipality invites you to discover the history of its gardens

As part of the “Walks in the History of Tavira” program, the Municipal Museum is promoting, on July 19th, at 10:30 am, with a meeting point at the Jardim de São Francisco and under the guidance of Sónia Talhé Azambuja (professor of Landscape Architecture at the Faculty of Science and Technology of the University of Algarve), a cultural tour, in which the gardens of São Francisco, Castelo, Alagoa and Coreto (Tavira's public garden) will be visited.
These historic spaces will be interpreted based on the art history of the gardens, their layout, botany, hydraulics and urban setting.
The "Walks through the History of Tavira" aims to showcase the past of the city and municipality, including the landscape, monuments and historical figures, while simultaneously promoting the appreciation and preservation of local heritage.
This special edition is associated with the celebrations of National Historic Centers Day, reinforcing the importance of safeguarding these spaces of collective memory.
Participation is free and limited to 30 people, upon registration, until July 17th, by filling out the form, available here .
