Small change to Christmas school holidays

A decree published this Thursday in the Official Gazette changes the Christmas break period for public schools, delaying the end of classes by one day. The break will now begin on the 17th, instead of December 16th. Classes will resume three days earlier than scheduled, on January 2nd, 2026, a Friday, rather than on the 5th, a Monday, as previously planned.

The diploma also covers private special education establishments.

Students will have the same school days, as they start their holidays a day later but return to school a day earlier.
