The grand final will take place on May 16, 2026, at Austria's largest indoor arena, the Wiener Stadthalle.

Vienna has been chosen to host the Eurovision Song Contest on May 16, 2026. The announcement was made by the Austrian public broadcaster, ORF, this Wednesday. Vienna, which previously hosted the event in 1967 and 2015, beat out Innsbruck, the capital of the province of West Tyrol. The preference over the Austrian capital is justified by its "enormous" accommodation capacity, "excellent" transport links, and its "cosmopolitanism," as Vienna currently boasts 2 million inhabitants.
The final of the 70th Eurovision Song Contest will be held at the Wiener Stadthalle, Austria's largest indoor arena, with the semifinals scheduled for May 12th and 14th. Austria, it should be noted, won the right to host next year's Eurovision Song Contest after Austrian singer JJ won this year's edition in Basel, Switzerland, with the song "Wasted Love." With its first edition held in 1955, Eurovision is now the largest live televised music event in the world. Throughout its history, it has catapulted the Swedish group Abba and names such as Céline Dion, Cliff Richard, and Olivia Newton-John to fame.
This year, approximately 166 million viewers in 37 countries tuned in to watch the competition, with a record 60% of viewers between the ages of 15 and 24. The competition garnered even more views on Instagram and TikTok.
