Trump told Zelenksy that the Russians must "feel the pain" before agreeing to negotiate.

US President Donald Trump said Wednesday that Ukraine should not bomb Moscow, after having admitted that possibility during a conversation with Volodymnyr Zelensky earlier this month.

"No, they shouldn't bomb Moscow," Trump said when questioned by reporters about reports, made public on Tuesday, that he had given Ukraine the green light to attack the Russian capital to force Vladimir Putin to negotiate a peace agreement. "They have to feel pain," Trump reportedly said in a July 4 conversation with the Ukrainian president, in which he asked Zelenskyy whether Ukraine had the capability to strike Moscow and St. Petersburg. "Absolutely, if they give us the weapons to do so," the Ukrainian president reportedly responded, according to sources cited by the Financial Times.

Trump also reiterated the ultimatum he issued earlier this week to Putin to accept a peace agreement within 50 days, or the US will impose 100% tariffs on Russia and its key allies. "Fifty days is not a long time. Opinions change quickly, and it may not even be 50 days, it could be much sooner," he warned.

The US president also confirmed that the first Patriot battery supplied to Ukraine through the agreement signed this week with NATO is "already on its way." Next week, military leaders from several NATO countries will meet to coordinate the shipment of additional Patriot batteries currently in their arsenals, which will later be replaced by new anti-missile systems purchased from the US.

Terrorist group claims murder in Kyiv

A US-funded, Russian-funded international far-right terrorist group claimed responsibility for the murder of a Ukrainian intelligence colonel in Kyiv last week. The group, known as "The Base," has been active in the country for several months and has threatened assassinations and acts of sabotage. "This is just the beginning," a spokesperson warned on the group's Telegram channel.
