Espinho City Council purchases fire-fighting vehicle for firefighters

The municipality of Espinho reported that it "invested in safety" with the acquisition of a new firefighting vehicle, highlighting that it was "the first time in the history of the local authority that a similar delivery has taken place."

The purchase represents an investment of 251 thousand euros, 85 percent of which will be financed by community funds, and the vehicle will be provided for use by the Espinho Municipal Fire Department, replacing a vehicle that is over 28 years old. "Although designed for fighting fires in natural areas, the new vehicle has highly versatile features, allowing it to participate in various emergency response operations in our region, thus providing added value to the municipal civil protection system and local response capacity," the city council emphasized in a press release.
