Distinctions mark the municipality's day
"40 years is a milestone that represents the work of all those who, over the years, have contributed to the municipality's growth. It is also a milestone to remember those who, before these 40 years, contributed to Peso da Régua's elevation to city status," said José Manuel Gonçalves, mayor.
Among those honored is the Godim Scout Group 282, which will have new headquarters. According to José Manuel Gonçalves, "it's a way for us to respond to the needs of a 100-year-old institution that now boasts a dynamic and vibrant youth base," adding that "it's also a way to motivate them for the next 100 years."
