Brasília Hoje: 'People were right to be a little pissed off,' says Lula about falling popularity

Commenting on unfavorable results in evaluation polls, President Lula (PT) stated this Tuesday (12) that the population was right to be angry with the government due to high food prices, due to inflation .
"People were right to be a little pissed off because beans were expensive, meat was expensive. The people are right, and now we have to commit to improving, and things are getting better, they are getting better, they are getting better," he said in an interview with Bandnews.

Jokingly, Lula also said that he was red in the polls "because the PT's color is red."
Still commenting on his popularity, the Workers' Party member stated that he is not concerned about his performance with business leaders, as he believes they are not his main constituency. This statement comes at a delicate time for the sector, which is waiting for the government to develop a contingency plan to deal with Donald Trump 's tariff hike on Brazilian products.
In the same interview, Lula announced that he will sign a provisional measure with a R$30 billion credit to support affected sectors.
"I've never worried about the business community's voting behavior, because I think most of them never voted for me. With me, it's a skin issue; they know where I came from, they know my origins, and I never hold back from saying which side I'm on, who I govern for," said the president.
"Although I govern for everyone, they know I prefer to help the poor escape the misery they find themselves in. And businesspeople know what I think. I've never held a business rallies, but I treat them with the respect they deserve," he declared.
According to the latest Datafolha poll , the Workers' Party candidate's approval rating remains stable, with 40% disapproving and 29% approving. In the previous round, Lula had 28% ratings of "excellent" or "good" and the same 40% ratings of "bad" or "terrible." The "average" rating rose from 31% to 29%, and 1% had no opinion.
