Storm Benjamin has caused significant disruptions for travelers in the Netherlands since Thursday. The Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute (KNMI) issued strong wind warnings. The strongest winds were in the west of the country, where orange warnings were issued. The orange warning was lifted on Monday, but strong winds continued along the coast.

"Due to strong winds caused by Storm Benjamin, flights will be delayed or canceled from 6:00 p.m. Traveling through Schiphol Airport today? Please consider the weather conditions and plan your trip carefully," the statement read. Around 200 flights, mostly KLM, have been canceled.
Although the storm was expected to last until Friday morning, disruptions are expected throughout the day. Many arrivals, including several from Poland, will be delayed or canceled. LOT from Warsaw (LO265) will experience an approximately 20-minute delay. KLM flight KL 1314 from Warsaw and KL 1302 from Gdańsk have also been canceled.
Work on the tracks has been suspendedThe storm also affected rail transport. High-speed trains between Amsterdam and Breda were temporarily suspended. Authorities advised travelers to monitor weather forecasts, plan journeys carefully, and depart earlier than usual. In The Hague, a tree fell on a power line, causing significant damage.
Due to potentially dangerous conditions, maintenance work on the tracks has been suspended.
Repairs to the tracks and power lines will be postponed until conditions are safe. Rail operator ProRail said full repair work will resume when it is safe to do so.
The wind will weaken as the day progresses, but Friday and the weekend will see stormy and autumnal weather with scattered showers.
