Anyone planning a trip to the Polish seaside next summer will likely be able to take advantage of a new attraction. What will it be?

When I was younger, the main question when planning a vacation was: Sea or mountains ?

The first option usually won. However, I've never been interested in lying on the beach all day , so any additional attraction was more valuable than gold. Anyone who chooses the Baltic Sea next summer will be able to take advantage of this absolute novelty.

As we read on the website of the Puck Commune , an electric water tram will be launched in May 2026, which will run on the Puck – Chałupy line.

From the press release we learn that the construction of an electric tram is a joint initiative of the Puck Commune , the City of Puck , the Władysławowo Commune , the Puck County and the Puck Bay County-Community Association .

It is intended to be a quick way to reach the Hel Peninsula and a solution to crowded roads and trains during the holiday season.

The electric tram is described as a modern and, above all, ecological means of transport , capable of carrying 50 passengers at a time. The creators announce that the tram will be adapted to the needs of people with disabilities and will allow the transport of bicycles .

"This project will certainly delight residents and tourists alike, who will be able to enjoy the bay's charms in a completely new way. Quiet, emission-free, and with an unforgettable view: This is how we will soon be traveling," we read on the Puck Commune website.

The water tram will launch its first route in May 2026, and testing is currently underway. Where did the idea to launch this type of vehicle on the Polish coast come from?

"We wanted it to be something different. Something that would attract both tourists and locals and make it much easier to get to the Baltic beaches ," said Arkadiusz Gawrych , chairman of the Puck Bay District-Community Association, in an interview with RMF .
