Wojciech Szczewczyk lost in the billiards semifinal at this year's World Games. The Pole will now compete for the bronze medal.

In the semifinals of the top ten, Szewczyk faced Oliver Szolnoki from Hungary. After a fierce battle, Szolnoki prevailed on Wednesday morning, winning 9-8.

Ten-ball is a specific variation of American billiards. It resembles the familiar game of nine-ball, but its rules are more restrictive.

The Polish representative's opponent in the bronze medal match at the event in Chengdu will be a player from Germany - Joshua Filler.

The World Games is an event featuring sports not included in the Olympic program. This year, Chengdu is hosting the competition. The competition officially began on August 7th, but some disciplines began a day earlier.

The final day of the World Games is scheduled for August 17.

In the previous edition of the event (Birmingham 2022), Poles won 15 medals - three gold, five silver and seven bronze.
